Notable Cases

Gruber & Gruber has successfully litigated cases in the following areas:

Gruber & Gruber has been successfully litigating Vioxx cases long before the recent recall of Vioxx, and represented over 400 clients who had suffered serious injury (heart attack, stroke, or other cardiovascular injuries) due to taking Vioxx.  When Merck & Co. entered into a global settlement of the Vioxx litigation, Gruber & Gruber’s clients received their fair share of the $5 billion dollar settlement.

Celebrex, manufactured by Pfizer and its sister medication, Bextra, are in the class of medications known as Cox-2 inhibitors, and are commonly prescribed to treat arthritis and reduce pain in adults.  When it was announced that a government-sponsored study demonstrated that Celebrex/Bextra use increased the risk of heart attacks and strokes in certain patients, Gruber & Gruber successfully represented over 100 clients to ensure they received compensation for their injuries.

When the drug Rezulin (troglitazone), manufactured by Pfizer, Inc. to control blood sugar levels in type II diabetes patients, was found to cause serious and deadly liver damage, Gruber & Gruber was on the front line of the class action case ensuring that over 1000 clients who took Rezulin received compensation they were entitled to.
